Printing in Yorkshire can and must retain its competitive edge and to do this Print Yorkshire will:
- Build a directory of Business Improvement tools and resources available to companies in Yorkshire.
- Encourage and financially assist companies to take part in the printing industry benchmarking initiative. This will not only generate manufacturing and other business improvement activities but also allow us to develop a statistical database of Yorkshire companies and permit year on year measurement of business performance improvement. This will also build the base from which companies can be supported and encouraged to initiate the improvements shown necessary by the benchmark process. Relationships with customers are crucial to an industry like printing, which relies on extremely high service levels.
- Commission research into Customer Relations Management (CRM) practice and the needs in the printing industry. Following on from that we intend to develop a CRM best practice guide for the industry and masterclasses to complement it. We may in this project work with Vision in Print, the Print industry Forum.
- Set ourselves the challenge of creating an environment, whereby in Year 5, 40 companies have committed to achieving ‘world class’ status.
