Hull Goes Global
Date Posted:

Business in the Humber region is to get an international shot in the arm, encouraging them to “Go global” as soon as possible.
The World Trade Centre opens in Hull this autumn and simultaneously short intensive courses on business in France, Spain and Latin America, China, Italy, Germany and the Middle East and language taster sessions come on stream in this city and throughout the region.
Dr Sandra Potesta of the RLN YH who has designed and instigated the courses commented: “We hope that companies will take advantage of these great training opportunities. It has been proved again and again that cultural awareness and effective use of foreign languages have a major role to play in international trade. “
Peter Kersh, Chairman of steering group for the RLN YH said: “First class, and I emphasise first class, international advice for business is sadly lacking. It is so easy to get a lawyer or accountant but to get really good language or cultural advice remains difficult for many companies. The RLN YH has a major role to play here.”
The courses cost only £40 per event , being 70% funded by the Learning and Skills Council Skills Fund, and are aimed particularly at SMEs .
