In Safe Hands – Charlesworth Looks to the Future

The future of global publishing services specialist, The Charlesworth Group has been set with confirmation that a further member of the Charlesworth family has been appointed to the senior management team.

Richard Charlesworth is the second of the third generation of Charlesworths to join the business, while his sister Helen, who has been with the Company for ten years, is now promoted to Deputy MD. Richard is the youngest son of Chairman Neil Charlesworth and he has recently graduated from the University of Manchester with a Masters in Chemistry. He will initially be trained in the fundamentals of the business at the Company headquarters in Wakefield and will then spend six months working in the Beijing office. Richard plans to study for an MBA in the near future.

Founded by Neil’s parents in 1928, The Charlesworth Group has gone from strength to strength with significant wholly owned interests established in the Chinese market during the last ten years. The Company now has offices in UK, China and USA employing around 250 people in total.

Richard will work closely with the experienced members of Charlesworth’s senior global management team who include Adrian Stanley (CEO of The Charlesworth Group (USA) Inc), Marion Morrow and David Boothman (Sales Director and Operations Director from The Charlesworth Group), and Tao Tao and Amanda Laverick (Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Charlesworth China).

Expanding rapidly in China, Charlesworth has over 140 staff located in Beijing providing typesetting, production and print management services together with continuously developing Rights related work such as the sale of publications to Chinese libraries, Government and Pharmaceutical companies.

Charlesworth’s USA office is also developing at an impressive rate and is adding value and service to our global customers.

Neil said of his restructured team, “I am delighted to see Richard coming on board and to announce Helen’s promotion. We needed to take a proactive approach to ensure the ongoing success of Charlesworth and have addressed this by changes to our management structure. This is the ultimate solution to help us fulfil the perpetual need for innovation and new product development in the markets we operate in, while continuing the family tradition
