Garnett Dickinson is pleased to announce an extension of its services to create it brand new fully integrated Direct Marketing division – Garnett Dickinson Mailing.  Garnett Dickinson Mailing is an exciting and innovative new service providing the Mail Order, Commercial and Publishing sectors with the latest technology and progressive approach to help increase sales and speed up turnaround times.   GD Mailing was launched to the Mail Order industry at the Catalogue Exchange Conference/ECMOD Awards in London in mid April.  This was followed by several orders including a two year contract for a large Mail Order business worth £0.75 million and another for 800,000 mailing packs for a trade customer in Leeds.

Garnett Dickinson Mailing which has already secured ISO 14001 and Sustainable Mail accreditation, offers a standalone Direct Marketing facility with its main base at Normanton, near Wakefield and a second facility at its Rotherham factory making it one of the UK’s largest Mailing Houses with the ability to handle over half a million items a day.  Its facilities include five Sitma polywrapping lines, three envelope enclosing machines, Simplex/Duplex continuous stationery lasering using OCE Variostream 7650, full multi-channel data bureau services (including the option to output a pdf of the entire personalised print/mailing run and in-house digital printing.)

With the added option of having promotional material printed in-house through either Garnett Dickinson Print, Garnett Dickinson Digital or Acorn Web Offset, this new service provides a fast and flexible solution helping reduce lead times to market.  Garnett Dickinson Group acquired Acorn Web Offset in September 2009 and GD Mailing’s main base is next to the Acorn facility.

Group Chief Executive, Nick Alexander commented: “Garnett Dickinson Mailing is a natural extension of services we have provided for more than 20 years and we felt strategically that the time was right to expand our offering to the Mail Order and Direct Marketing industries.  The Acorn acquisition in the second half of last year presented us with the ideal opportunity to develop GD Mailing in 2010. We are delighted to welcome on board some of the most experienced and talented people in the industry to run the new division including Andy Cowman as Database Marketing Director.”

The Mail Order contract company said: “We have previously known some of the key staff from Blackburn DM. Garnett Dickinson Mailing is an impressive set up with energy and commitment and we are looking forward to working with them.”
The Garnett Dickinson Group specialises in the printing of magazines, catalogues and brochures for mail order houses, publishing companies, tour operators and a wide range of other companies throughout the UK.  It also publishes the Rotherham Advertiser and other local newspapers and regional business and lifestyle magazines.
