The People:
We are looking for a Chief Executive or MD of a small/medium sized business (SME) within a growth sector representing the future economic prospects of our city region to join the Board.  Examples of such sectors include bio-science; health/medical technology; low-carbon/ environmental technologies; and digital industries.

Possessing the following qualities and experience will be essential:
•   A clear strategic vision, excellent communication and leadership skills and a demonstrable understanding of how skills and employment drive economic prosperity;
•   Significant current experience as an employer based within the City Region*;
•   Well connected with demonstrable links with other businesses and organisations, including other key employers within your sector;
•   Commitment to serve for up to three years: at quarterly Board meetings and for up to half a day per month to champion the work of the Board.

Interest is welcome from individuals employing up to 250 people and ideally we are seeking those with circa 50-100 employees. We are keen to attract high calibre business men and women from all sectors of our diverse communities.  These positions are voluntary; however expenses will be reimbursed.
